"AYM
helps me protect
my financial investment while minimizing my time investment. I do
enough
work at the office. My
boat is my recreation
and AYM helps me keep
it that way."

Management
Managing the maintenance, upkeep, and improvement
schedule aboard a private boat is always a challenge. As boats get
larger and more complex, and an owner's time and expertise are both
in short supply, the need for professional assistance becomes clear.
Rather than fill a notebook with slips of paper, business cards,
and dozens of contact numbers, more and more owners are beginning
to see the value of professional one-stop "yacht management"
services.
Three sailors have launched a new Annapolis-based
yacht management service. John Martino, Susann Catterton, and Bridget
Creney have teamed up to start Annapolis Yacht Management, LLC.
The new company will provide premium yacht management services to
owners in the Annapolis area. The goal of Annapolis Yacht Management
(AYM) is to provide turnkey services as the boat owner's advocate,
providing continuity of care and a single point of contact for the
procurement of marine goods and services. The enthusiastic AYM team
brings outstanding credentials to the project.
Martino, AYM's president and founder, holds a
500 ton, All-Oceans Coast Guard Captain's license and is a graduate
of Georgetown University where he was a member of the varsity sailing
team. He served as a sailing instructor/captain at the Annapolis
Sailng School and most recently served as captain of the shcooner
Katheryn B., a 105-foot three-masted schooner carrying guests
on luxury charters in the Caribbean.
Catterton, a Maryland native, is also a licensed
captain and a veteran Annapolis Sailing School instructor/captain.
She has extensive experience sailing on the Chesapeake and in the
Caribbean. She serves as AYM's vice president of sales.
Creney was raised sailing on Cape Coad and was
a successful member of the Georgtown University Sailing team. Following
graduation from Georgetown she was fundamental in the development
of the Treasure Island Sailing Center Foundation, a San Francisco
community non-profit sailing program. Creney serves as the company's
vice president.
Martino says, "Taking proper care of a modern
yacht requires a great deal of time as well as technical expertise
and familiarity with local marine service providers. We assume that
burden for the owner, so he can spend more time on the wather while
preserving the yacht's value."
AYM's service includes an initial yacht inspection
and inventory, routine vessel inspections, sourcing marine specialists,
project management, and custom consulting. The service is based
on a monthly or annual fee, and AYM offers three degrees of management.
AYM presents a single invoice for all activity including management,
multiple contractors, and equipment purchases through a credit service.
As a management and sourcing company, AYM will
contract out maintenance, repairs, and improvements to reputable,
insured marine service providers. Because AYM's services are based
solely on a management fee paid by the boat's owner, AYM does not
benefit financially from work preformed by outside providers. Volume
and commercial discounts that AYM receives on marine goods and services
are passed through to the boats's owner.
Martino continues, "I genuinely believe that
our professionalism and dedication to customer service combined
with a high level of expertise in yacht systems and care will significantly
enhance the ownership experience for our clients."
